Coca cola barbecue sauce
Cola is probably a well-known ingredient for several kinds of desserts, but it may be a bit hard to imagine it as a barbecue ingredient. If you had this belief too, it would change soon if you keep reading. Besides, it is very easy to create this specialty, so you don’t have any reason not to try it. First, you need to blend all the ingredients together in a pan. These are the followings: Coca-cola (2 cups), ketchup (2 cups), white vinegar (half cup), a half chopped onion, brown sugar (1/4 cup) and some salt, black pepper and chili powder. Boil this mixture, then cook it on low temperature for about half an hour. Put it aside for 20 minutes before spreading it on the meat. If you put it into a jar, you can store it in your fridge for 9-10 days (you will have approximately 5 and a half cups of sauce at the end).
Another recipe for the lovers of sweet savor, but this time it is something that fits best with chicken. To start making the sauce, you will need to chop yellow onion and butter. Cook the onion in butter until it is soft, then add some chopped garlic and cook it for another few minutes. Now you can start adding the rest of the ingredients: brown sugar, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, orange juice, honey, chopped tomatoes and spices like salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder and chipotle pepper. Cook the sauce for about 60-80 minutes (on low temperature), and when it is done and already cool, pour it into a food processor and make it a light puree. Now you can start preparing the chicken. Spice the meat pieces with salt and pepper, grill them until they are almost done, then distribute the sauce on them, and grill the meat for a few more minutes.
Memphis barbecue sauce
The cooking method for this recipe is very similar to the previous one, but the additional ingredients are molasses, water, mustard, dried oregano and thyme. Moreover, you won’t need orange juice, honey, tomatoes and chipotle pepper; otherwise, you can follow the instructions above.
